Welcoming Fall

It seems a new season is sneaking up on us here in Texas.  The days are still quite warm but there's been a couple of mornings and evenings the temperatures have dipped a little.  I'm always a little sad to see summer come to an end.  I have dark skin and consider myself a tropical girl and I really enjoy the warm sunny weather.  But it's true that every season has its own beauty.  Autumn happens to be one of the prettiest.

I was walking through Wal-Mart today and saw a lady with a huge potted mum in her shopping cart.  Of course I had to go check them out and couldn't resist bringing some home for myself.

This one is great big!  It's very full and will be so pretty when it blooms.  It has ornamental grass growing in the middle.  It's so big I had a hard time deciding where to put it.

I had it setting on my front porch for a while but then decided that the smaller one looked better there.  I moved this one to the Gazebo.

It's heavy enough the Texas panhandle wind won't blow it over.  I'll also want to plant these before it gets too cold.

We made it back from Florida last week from taking our oldest daughter to college.  It's strange getting used to having one less person around.  Talk about entering a new season.  I feel like I'm entering a new season in my life.  I'm having to adjust to her not being here.  I miss her so much.  We just got back Friday and started home school for our other two kids on Saturday.  It's been busy around here but at least things are getting back to their routine.  Life is Good!

  1. My husband just bought me two potted mums yesterday. I'm also trying to figure out where to put them. I do love them. Your gazebo is gorgeous!

    1. Oh my! That is funny. But I sure hope they're not harmful. If he's been doing it for a while then I guess they wouldn't be.
