Soft Ruffly Baby Blanket

This baby blanket is finished and ready for its new owner.  I started it a few weeks ago and finished it last week.

The edging was a killer.  I thought I'd never get done.  Just row after row after row.  But it sure makes the blanket look pretty.  It kind of reminds me of eyelet lace with its scalloped edge and the slight ruffle.

It's so soft and lightweight.  Not bulky or heavy at all.  I used Bernat baby sport yarn.  Perfect for a baby to lay on or cover up with.

I don't know any babies to give it too so I put this one in my Etsy Shop.  I almost don't want to part with it.  I was thinking about keeping it for a lap blanket or a throw 'cause it's just so pretty and I'm kind of proud of it. But I went ahead and listed it.  Hoping someone buys it to wrap and cuddle their baby in.
I sure do love making baby things. Partly because baby things take less time to finish but also because baby things are so sweet and precious.  I guess I better start making boy stuff.  Everything I've made so far are girls things. I need to find a good pattern for little boys. But in the mean time I've already started on my next crochet project.  Can't wait to share it with you.

Til next time,
