Afghan Complete

Well it seems I took a longer break than I had intended.  From Christmas to the New Year I didn't crochet a thing.  It was only a couple of days ago that I decided to pick up my hook again and try to finish this afghan that I started back in November.   This was supposed to be my Christmas afghan but I didn't finish it in time.  I think I'll leave it out the rest of the winter season so I can have a chance to enjoy it a bit.
It was already pieced together. It just needed the border.
I chose red for the edging because I wanted something colorful and cheery.  This is after all my Christmas afghan. I like the added boost of color.
I like the way it looks on my porch swing with the sun hitting it.  There's just something about an afghan that makes a place feel homey and inviting.   Even out on the front porch it seems to be calling me to sit and curl up with it.
This was an enjoyable project.  I liked the whole process of making all the blocks, piecing them together and finishing it off with a pretty edge. Crocheting is therapeutic in a way.  However, I also know, that you will understand me when I say I'm glad it's finished.  Whew!  Onto the next project.

I hope everyone is doing well and I can't wait to do my rounds so I can catch up with all of you and see all the lovely treasures you all are busy creating.
