Granny Squares

Little bitty granny squares...
in various shades of muted tones and pastels...
made mostly from scrap yarn...
just waiting to be turned into something bigger...
something greater.

There's 42 of them to be exact.

I just love how charming little granny squares can be.
How pretty they can look all stacked up in a neat little pile.

Even those pesky little ends that we can't avoid
end up looking so pretty all piled up in a little heap.
These are destined to become a baby blanket.
A new baby girl was born to a family at our church a couple of weeks ago.
The date for the baby shower has been set.
Like always, I'm a little late getting started on the gift so I'm feeling the time crunch.
I'd like to keep these pretty little things sitting in my basket
a little bit longer just so I can look at them and enjoy them.
But sadly there is no time to waste.
I best get busy stitching away.
Hopefully I can finish it in time.
It's always a race to the finish.
Wish me luck.
:)
